CONVERSATION

‘The Africas VS. America’

In 1985, at the height of the Black Power era, police dropped a bomb in a Philadelphia neighborhood. Their target? A family of Black radicals known as ‘MOVE,’ who found themselves ensnared in a city’s — and nation’s — domestic war on Black Liberation. Exactly what happened and how the story of MOVE has been erased from American history is now the subject of the new CBC podcast ‘The Africas VS. America.’

In this On Air Fest exclusive, host Matthew Amha is joined by activist, speaker & MOVE member Mike Africa Jr. for an in-depth conversation about trust, authenticity and the journalistic balance required to tell a family’s carefully-guarded story.
